Teen Programme

Jade offers 1-1 mentoring and therapy sessions

Addiction for some can be a harsh term that’s surrounded by stigma and shame. The vast majority of teens however, have or will experience feelings and behaviours of addiction. Whether it be the common uses alcohol or nicotine, or the less understood addictions to gambling, sex, pornography, Internet, gaming or exercise. Jade provides education for young people to develop an awareness of how addiction transpires physically, psychologically, behaviourally and situationally. Jade also provides young people with a basic knowledge of resources for support for themselves and others regarding addiction.

School Workshop (60 mins)

  • Develop an understanding of the signs and symptoms of addiction; relate this to yourself and others. Learn how addiction affects you physically and psychologically, learn how to spot changes in behaviour and environment.
  • Equip yourself with a general understanding of how addiction can affect you in your community e.g. school, home, friends. Learn how to manage feelings around this and gain insight into the stigma surrounding addiction.

Parental Support - Jade offers 1-1 parental support and family sessions

For many parents, it can be hard to identify whether your teen has issues with addiction as most young people today spend little-to-no time with their family, and when they do there is a lack or withholding of communication. It is important to be comfortable with confronting your child if necessary, and feel equipped in doing so both gently and compassionately. Jade will provide you with the tools on how to keep an open line of communication with your teen and various ways to support them via 1-1 sessions or family therapy.
